Chapter Board Election Information

Dear E31 Chapter Members,

2016 will mark our first chapter board elections.  Up for election is the following offices:

Vice President (2 year term)
Brands Manager (3 year term)
Event Coordinator (3 year term)

Steve Cohen will be stepping down from Vice President, so his position will be available in addition to the positions of Brands Manager and Event Coordinator.  The term for Vice President will be 2 years to put it back in sync with the normal elections schedule.  Steve will remain active with the E31 Board as a Special Advisor to the board.  A Big “Thank You” goes out to Steve, Jeff Ivarson and Rob Scott for their terms in office.

Duties for E31 Chapter Board Members are set forth in section 5 of the E31 Chapter By-Laws.

To be eligible for E31 Chapter Board positions as outlined in our Chapter By-Laws, persons applying for E31 Chapter Board position must have been a BMW CCA E31 Chapter member for the previous 12 consecutive months prior to the election.  This means that members seeking chapter office are required to be E31 Chapter members at least back to April 2015 according to the roster provided to the chapter by BMW CCA.  Our By-Laws are in alignment with BMW CCA By-Laws, and requirements are in section 4 of the E31 Chapter By-Laws. A listing of members eligible to hold Chapter Board positions are listed below.

Additionally, when our By-Laws were established and registered with the BMW CCA National Office, E31 Board representation is spread across all regions, with no region having more than 2 board members. Geographic representation is covered in section 6 of the E31 Chapter By-Laws.

Maximum available positions, by region, are as follows:

Northeast: (Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island)
– 2 positions available

East Coast: (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Washington D.C.)
– 1 position available

South East: (North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama)
– 1 position available

North Central: (Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio)
– 2 positions available

Central: (Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana)
– 2 positions available

North West: (Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah)
– 2 positions available

South West: (California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico)
– 2 positions available

Canada: (all provinces)
– 1 position available

If you would like to run for chapter office, please do the following:
1. Compose a motivation statement for office, preferably in WORD format, and no longer than one page;
2. Send the motivation statement, along with a personal photograph to the following email addresses: and NO LATER THAN April 30, 2016.

Once all applications for board positions have been received by April 30th, the Chapter Secretary will consolidate the list with the Chapter President the first week in May. All information will then be published to chapter members through the Chapter E31 NEWS Newsletter and direct email, with information on voting, in May 2016.
